William E. "Bill" Wocelka

 

   William “Bill” Wocelka 90 of St. Anthony, passed away June 26, 2013 in the Ashton Living Center.

Bill was born Feb. 5, 1923 at Rice Lake, Wisconsin the son of William J. and Katherine Blaschko Helle Wocelka. He grew up in Wisconsin where he attended St. Anthony Catholic grade school graduating from Lincoln High School both in Park Falls, Wisconsin. Bill served in the U.S. Army Airforce during ww11 and was an airplane gunner. He was honorably discharged in l945.

He married Olive Wells and she passed away while he was still in the service. He Then married Marie Huml Cummings on Apr. 30, 1948 at Park Falls, WI.; They moved to St. Anthony in 1967 where Bill owned and operated Wocelka Logging until 1987. He also owned the Silver Horse Shoe Cafe for many years. Mary Died Feb. 14, 1989. Bill then married LaRena “Rena” Jenkins on Sept. 9, 1990 at Elko Nevada. They made their home in St. Anthony where they have since resided spending the winters in Green Valley, AZ.

Bill is survived by his wife LaRena of St. Anthony, Children - Bill (Ditty) Wocelka, Jr. and LaVerne Cummings, both of St. Anthony, and Rosie (Lee) Powell, Idaho Falls, siblings - Robert Wocelka, Hines, OR.; Rose Dixon, Oceanside, CA. 10 Grandchildren and 21 Great Grandchildren. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by two wives, and a daugher Shyla Haut, a brother Ray and two sisters Ruth, Margaret.

The family will visit with friends and relatives at the Bidwell Funeral Home Saturday, June 29 2013 from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. just prior to going to the Parker Cemetery where Military Rites will be performed by the St. Anthony V.F.W and American Legion. Cremation arrangements were handled under the direction of the Bidwell Funeral Home..
