Marvin J. Smith, 65, of Newdale died March 27, 2009 at the Rexburg Nursing Home following a stroke. Marvin was born Oct. 14, 1943 in the doctors office of Dr. Rigby in Madison Co. ID. the son of Frank L. and Olive Elnora Westover Smith. He grew up and attended his schooling in Madison Co. He worked at many of the local pototoe warehouses in the area. He enjoyed braking and training horses in his younger years. He married Betty Haddon Ostermiller on May 28, 1988 at Rexburg. They lived in Newdale. Betty died May 29, 1998. Marvin is survived by one step son - Blaine (Jackie) Ostermiller, Rexburg, ID. and 4 step grandchildren. Services will be conducted Wednesday, April 1, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. in the Bidwell Funeral Home in St. Anthony with Bp. Larid Robinson, Officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the time of services. Burial will be in the Teton-Newdale Cemetery.
